Trius Winery has unveiled a refreshed version of its signature Trius Tour, offering guests an elevated and more immersive way to explore one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s most established wine destinations. Known for its refined approach to Canadian winemaking, Trius has shaped its reputation over four decades through a blend of craftsmanship, visual storytelling, and a clear sense of place. The reimagined tour builds on that foundation with new design elements, expanded spaces, and an emphasis on the estate’s celebrated sparkling program.

At the centre of the experience is Canada’s largest underground sparkling cellar. Often described by visitors as striking and atmospheric, the space features thousands of bottles resting in precise formations and has been praised for its almost cinematic character. This cellar forms the architectural heart of the tour and reinforces Trius’ longstanding commitment to méthode classique sparkling wines.
Guests then move through the Sparkling Wine House, a livelier component of the journey where design, art, and wine intersect. The tour incorporates visual installations and curated tasting moments, encouraging visitors to slow down and take in the details that shape Trius’s identity. Reports from past guests highlight a mix of playful and informative elements, such as scent-identification stations and production-focused displays that illustrate the sparkling process in a clear, engaging way.
One of the most notable updates is the Vineyard Vista, a redesigned outdoor vantage point that replaces the former Rosé Lookout. The new space is intended to frame the landscape in a modern, open way, offering a direct connection to the vineyards that define the estate’s sparkling portfolio. It brings a fresh visual element to the tour while maintaining the calm, expansive feel that visitors look for when exploring wine country.
The journey also includes a dedicated installation honouring Trius Red, the wine that earned international acclaim in 1991 as the first Canadian vintage to be awarded Best Red Wine in the World. The new display takes a sculptural, gallery-style approach, underscoring the significance of that achievement within the broader story of Canadian wine.

According to Trius Head Winemaker Emma Garner, the goal behind the updated tour is to create a sense of connection through design, storytelling, and a curated selection of wines. That philosophy aligns with the estate’s longstanding reputation for blending wine, art, and culinary culture into a cohesive luxury experience. Trius Winery Restaurant, the region’s only MICHELIN Guide–recommended establishment, continues to reinforce the estate’s position as a culinary destination.
With exclusive access to the Sparkling Cellar, Sparkling House, and Vineyard Vista, the Trius Tour remains one of the estate’s most sought-after offerings and is available year-round. For travellers seeking an elevated wine-country experience, the updated tour offers a thoughtful balance of education, atmosphere, and design, all shaped by a winery that has become a cornerstone of Niagara’s premium wine scene.
