Most ebikes would not get our attention thanks to their sedate styling and lackluster zeal for being anything more than a means of transport. However, this UK based ebike has taken a different route while creating an amalgamation of retro styling and future proof green mobility. The CrownCruiser is green, desirable and more like a vintage motorbike in modern clothes.
More than its radical carbon fiber monocoque, its design is what piqued our interest. There is more than a whiff of an old Norton bike with the retro themed styling. We love the sculpted lines while personalization can be explored with many different colors and wrap designs. You can further specify what color to get the wheels in or types plus even customize the side gills.
Along with pleasing to the eye, this ebike is also aerodynamic along with having sustainability on its mind. Powering the CrownCruiser is a 750W rear hub motor along with a power output of 1000W. It is fairly zippy and is quite a fun urban commuter with top speed at 31 mph. Hence, it feels more like a high performance ebike while the strong frame is lighter plus adds strength. While maintaining a constant speed, you can also get around 100 miles per charger.
There is also a pedal assist system with two speed modes and it is easy to ride in the city along with being more relaxing than a conventional bike. For its retro themed pretentions, the CrownCruiser is very tech savvy with features such as Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, anti-theft, app for iOS and Android for ride stats etc. Riders can mount their smart phone on the carbon fiber handlebar which is also adjustable. The app can sense a fall and send an alert to the pre-set
emergency contact too. Conveniently, there is also a solution of wireless charging in-case you run out of charge. This ebike is hand assembled by British engineers while the team is currently planning to launch it while in the midst of getting crowd funding. We can expect a launch soon while prices are set to be pegged at $3,150. For this slice of retro and environmental mix, the CrownCruiser is certainly impressive and desirable along with paving the way for future transport.
