When you have a license to kill, keeping accurate time is crucial to getting the job done right. Since 1995 and the release of the Bond flick Goldeneye, Omega has been the timepiece of choice for the world’s most notable spy with the panache for exceptional watches. Roughly three years and counting since Bond last hit the silver screen in Skyfall, 007 groupies and watch lovers rejoice – it’s Bond time!
Making a return appearance, Daniel Craig as the debonair 007 will take on the sinister SPECTRE – namesake of the scheduled fall release, sporting a rumoured Seamaster Planet Ocean and Aqua Terra Swiss brand OMEGA.
In anticipation of the 24th Bond installment, Omega has revealed a limited edition Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Master Co-Axial model inspired by the Bond family coat of arms. For this offering, the Bond family crest has been integrated into a dynamic pattern on the dark blue watch dial and is also positioned near the tip of the yellow seconds hand.
One of the more attractive features of this enhanced model 41.5 mm stainless steel Aqua Terra Master Co-Axel is the oscillating weight of the movement visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. This component has been cut and shaped to resemble a gun barrel; a design feature seen in past Omega limited edition James Bond timepieces. Powered by the completely new Omega Master Co-Axial calibre 8507, the SPECTRE watch boasts reliable, chronometric performance and is resistant to magnetic fields greater than 15,007 gauss as indicated on the dial with the 007 insignia. The Omega James Bond Aqua Terra Spectre watch is limited to 15,007 pieces and comes with a 4-year warranty.
“The Bond family crest has been integrated into a dynamic pattern on the dark blue watch WHEN EVERY SECOND COUNTS dial and is also positioned near the tip of the yellow seconds hand.”
For those looking for more modest spy spirit to add to their accessory wardrobe, the Seamaster Planet Ocean is the Omega for you. Another James Bond notable, the Planet Ocean 600 M OMEGA Co- Axel Chronograph features a scratchresistant sapphire crystal; a black dial with a small seconds dial; a date window, and a central chronograph hand. Sixty-minute and 12-hour counters are found on the same dial at the 3 o’clock position allowing for intuitive reading of elapsed time, and the unidirectional rotating divers’ bezel is mounted on a 45.5 mm stainless steel case on a stainless steel bracelet.
Designed to pay homage to the brand’s dive watch heritage, this certified chronometer timepiece is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 9300 which can be seen through the transparent caseback and is water resistant to 600 metres.
While there can only ever be one Bond, James Bond, thanks to the Omega brand Planet Ocean and Aqua Terra luxury timepiece collection, every man can now be a Preferred Man, Gentleman of Distinction.
