A Blind Cigar Tasting Paired with Fine Spirits TRINIDAD TOPES (EL 2016) This is the latest addition to Trinidads lineup of incredible cigars. The Topes is a 2016 Edición Limitada that is currently running low in Cuba. If you see this cigar available, now is the time to get it. This cigar is an enthusiast’s dream come true. It’s complex, well built, looks amazing and smokes like nothing else. Perfect draw. Flavors consist of roasted nuts, subtle berries with hints of salt and pepper with an overall campfire aroma and distinct Cuban scent. Grab the Trinidad Topes El 2016 and the Johnnie Walker XR 21YO Legacy Blend, sit on the porch with a few friends and lose yourself in the deep conversation of both story and class. AJ FERNANDEZ ENCLAVE BROADLEAF The Enclave was introduced two years ago, almost as an addition to New World philosophy: good, solid smokes at relatively inexpensive prices. The Enclave Broadleaf is a very different follow-up blend, sharing virtually nothing with the original blend except a name and band artwork. Enclave Broadleaf uses Nicaraguan filler and binder leaves from Estelí, Jalapa and Pueblo Nuevo, as well as a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Early reports (and some reviews) indicated that the cigar used a Pennsylvania Broadleaf, however news reports from the 2017 IPCPR show and on the manufacturer’s website indicate that it is, indeed, Connecticut-grown. We’ve said it before and I’ll say it now: We like the Enclave Broadleaf better than the original Habano version. This is an excellent Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped cigar that stands out from the others on the market with its citrusy notes and slow building of body. Although this is a fantastic broadleaf the level and quality of the cigar wasn’t anything close to what we note as high quality. If you love broadleaf you’ll love this, but this isn’t the greatest cigar to smoke everyday. JOHNNIE WALKER XR 21YO THE LEGACY BLEND This Johnnie Walker XR 21 Legacy Blend is a tribute to Sir Alexander Walker, the grandson of the legendary Johnnie Walker. This extraordinary whisky is aged for an extended period of 21 years and inspired from the hand-written notes from Sir Alexander. Harmonic and elegant notes of sweet honey, tobacco and raisin are mixed with tropical and citrus fruits. Let it slide down your throat with the creamy texture of liquid caramel and relish all those aromas at once! As it would be a waste to combine it with any kind of mixer, we strongly recommend enjoying it neat and with it a Trinidad Topes El 2016. We sure enjoyed it!
